MINDFULNESS - dealing with emotions
Welcome to lesson 10 of the Introduction to Mindfulness course.
In today’s lesson, we're going to work with the next obstacle in meditation which is; what to do when you experience strong or painful emotions.
And this can happen to almost everyone in meditation at some point.
You sit down to meditate, and a really strong, painful emotion arises, something like sadness, or anger, or frustration, or restlessness.
All sorts of emotions can come up that are really difficult to work with.
So, today, I'll share a technique that you can use for any negative emotion.
Today’s lesson will take 22 minutes. Make sure you will not be disturbed, and...

Please take a moment and let me know, in a comment below,
what was your experience during the practice, and if you have any question.
I love to hear from you, and I respond to every comment...
Today was much better. I was better rested.
This meditation was great. I had different emotions coming up and this technique certainly helped me in dealing with them during meditation. Thank you!
That’s truly great to hear Marjolein!
Well done on your persistence and commitment. It’s the only way to master anything. I hope you acknowledge yourself for it
I must have been very tired, because I almost fell asleep multiple times!
I will repeat this exercise tomorrow in a hopeful more waking state. A good moment it will be, because tomorrow is the press conference about our most severe lock down we are in now for 5 weeks. There are rumours that it will be prolonged and perhaps be even made more severe…
All the talking about corona makes me very anxious, so I will have a feeling to work with.
Repeating the lesson, is a great wy to take it even deeper Marjolein.
Actually I would recommend that after you finish the course, you can start it again, but this time you can skip the teaching par, if you want, and go straight into the meditation and repeat each lesson’s meditation for a week.
That way it would give you an opportunity to go deeper and stronger into your meditation practice.
That is an excellent idea, thank you!
