Mindful Eating for Four Minutes

Today, over breakfast, lunch or dinner, hold a piece of your food in your hand.

Pay attention to the food you are holding; notice the feeling of it in your hands.

Once you have noticed the texture, the weight, the color, etc... bring your awareness to the smell.

Finally, move on to eating, but do so slowly and with concentrated attention

Notice the taste and its texture against your tongue.

This exercise will help you tune into the present and discover new experiences with familiar foods.

What Was Your Mindfulness Experience?

Let us know in the comment box below, what did you experience during these four minutes...

We can’t wait to read your experience and get inspired.

And until then...

Live fully, stay awesome…

  • It reminds me not to eat too hastily.
When you eat slowly and with attention to your food, you eat less, better for your waistline.
In addition, when you take your time, the food tastes much better.
And after a good tasting meal, the day runs more smoothly.

    • Vered Neta says:

      Totally agree with you Karl.
Mindfulness eating is a great way to notice that we don’t need that much food in us and noticing when we eat for the sake of nourishment or eating as a compensation for something else that we need.

Thanks for this wonderful observation and sharing it with us

    Aha!
So this is why I like eating.
Now I’m aware the “now” is involved.

Thanks for your insight Peter. Would love to hear how you experienced it

  • Japke Englebert says:

Mindfulness during walking with the dogs makes walking with them easier. They stay more close. Less pulling the line. Have a good day with love❤️

    • Vered Neta says:

Great suggestion Japke, thanks for your contribution
