MINDFULNESS - Mindful Listening

Welcome to lesson 6 of the Introduction to Mindfulness course.

Today is an exciting day.

We're going to learn one of my favorite practices, which I call Mindful Listening.

So far we've been working mostly with the breath and feelings in the body, and today we're going to expand your awareness outside of your body, and begin paying attention to sounds in the environment around you.

Today’s lesson will take 17 minutes. Make sure you will not be disturbed, and...

Please take a moment and let me know, in a comment below,
what was your experience during the practice, and if you have any question.

I love to hear from you, and I respond to every comment...

  • Hanny Schouten says:

This time there was total silence and I was far away in a great feeling of overall love.
    Thank you.

  • Marjolein Etten says:

This was more difficult than I thought. At first I was listening so intensely I forgot to breathe. So bringing my attention back to rising… falling… and then back to listening helped.

  • Japke Englebert says:

The first mindfull listening meditation I had was when I was eight and the teacher gave us the exercise to be silent and listen to the sounds we heard.

So we could tell it afterwards and the class became more quiet. Nice to do this again.

  • Jet Sebus says:

Hi, Vered, how wonderful to just listen to my husband’s snoring in a mindful way. I slept like a log, thank you!

    • Vered Neta says:

So great to hear this Jet. Snoring can be such a disturbing noise, but when you do it, like you did, not only it can become a “lullaby”?… but also it improves your skill in staying in equanimity

      Well done!
